Luyi is one of the Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying)at CMAP Health. Luyi focuses on emotional distress, as well as parental and couple problems. She believes in lifelong learning and will never stop striving to be a better therapist. Luyi graduated with a BA degree in English literature and worked as a translator and published a few translation books from English to Chinese in China. She believes that mental well-being is as important as physical health and that therapy is a part of modern life; we all need someone at some point to listen to us without judgement and focus on our problems. When asked why she wanted to work at CMAP Health and what clients could expect from her, this was Luyi’s response: “Life is like a wave; we cannot change how it breaks but how we ride it. I use a client-centred, multicultural discipline and collaborative approach (CBT) to help you grow and heal. I love CMAP Health for its advanced and rigorous training and multidisciplinary team collaboration. I sincerely believe change is possible in all of us with the will and the right guidance, and all people have the necessary resources within themselves to recover and achieve their goals in life fully. I believe in empowering you with the tools to find relief, clarity, and emotional growth. No problem is too problematic for positive change. I acknowledge the complexity of being human, and people are more than their diagnosis. I am here to provide a warm, compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where you can tell me your story and facilitate that self-awareness and inner connection. We will work together to build the toolbox for dealing with the present, past and future problems and foster growth and healing.” Besides English, Luyi can also provide service in Mandarin and Cantonese. She is continuing to developing skills and meet the requirements necessary to register with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
