Kayla is a Therapist under supervision from the CMAP Health team. She is currently in her final year of her Master’s Degree in Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa. She also has a Post-Graduate Diploma in addictions and mental health counselling. Kayla has experience working with childhood concurrent disorders such as Anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, and children on the Autism Spectrum. She also has experience working with adults in a rehabilitation center specializing in Addiction and Concurrent Disorders. Kayla is gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to complete her professional certification and registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She has also completed additional certifications in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Behavior Management Systems for youth and adults. At CMAP Health, she will further develop skills in evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which are empirically validated to help a large number of adult mental health concerns. Kayla emphasizes the importance of establishing trust and rapport with her clients. She strongly believes that the client has the capability within themselves to effectuate change, helping them develop coping skills and resources to achieve their therapeutic goals. All clients are unique and thus merit an approach that will be tailored to their needs. Kayle can off services in English and French
