Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Heather is one of our student therapists, she is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) through CRPO and is currently under supervision at CMAP Health. Heather’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Athabasca University and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Heather has extensive experience supporting victims of crime as well as with crisis intervention. Having worked as a civilian member within law enforcement for upwards of ten years, Heather is passionate about the promotion of first responder mental health and is interested in advancing her knowledge of treating PTSD and supporting clients with post-traumatic growth. Additionally, Heather is interested in helping clients with depression, anxiety, grief and is committed to continuing her education to support clients with Body Dysmorphic Disorder.
Heather values building strong collaborations with her clients and is dedicated to supporting her clients in achieving their therapeutic goals and brings creativity to support curating a process based on her clients' presenting needs.
Heather believes strongly in providing evidence-based therapy and is thrilled to be strengthening her competencies in CBT by completing a CBT training program with Unified CBT Academy.
