Therapist under Supervision
Hannah Richardson is a Therapist under supervision with the CMAP Health team. She is in her final year of her Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Ottawa. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Honours Psychology from Dalhousie University. Hannah believes that therapy should invite clients to feel connected, supported and empowered. Her goal is to develop a meaningful relationship with every client that is built upon trust, empathy and positive regard. Hannah is gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to complete her professional certification and registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Canadian Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CACBT). At CMAP Health, Hannah will develop skills in evidence-based treatments, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which are empirically validated therapies aimed at helping individuals with a wide variety of mental health challenges. Hannah has completed additional certifications in Cognitive Behavioural Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP) and has professional experience in assessing and working with survivors of sexual violence and human trafficking. While rooted in evidence-based modalities, her approach to therapy will be flexible, collaborative and holistic. Hannah will seek to build on strengths that clients already possess, while further developing coping strategies, tools and skills in the areas where clients may struggle. Hannah can offer services in English.
