Beth Robbins is a Psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She has experience working with clients who have Chronic Pain, Concurrent Disorders, PTSD, Anxiety and Mood Disorders and has specialized interest in working with Police, Military, Veteran and first responder populations. Beth works with a diverse adult population to provide a collaborative, structured approach in meeting the needs of her clients. She has formal training in number of therapeutic modalities including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Prolonged Exposure for PTSD, Compassion Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Based interventions- Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. She has a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Calgary and has almost 20 years of experience as a Social Worker employed in various settings across Canada. Beth has worked within a number of interdisciplinary teams over the past 20 years and regularly consults with other professionals to ensure her clients receive a holistic approach to their care. She believes that keeping up to date with evidence based treatment is important and regularly engages in educational opportunities in order to best provide clients with up to date information. Beth offers clients a non judgemental, respectful environment where goals for therapy are established collaboratively with the aim of creating meaningful longterm change, providing clients with the skills to maintain change in their own lives. Social workers in CMAP Health have intensive training in evidence-based psychological therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Through the psychotherapy process, Social Workers identify and define problem areas, and offer mental health treatment to support you/clients in reaching wellness. Social Workers are uniquely trained to consider connections between family, workplace, community, and the larger social context. In Ontario Registered, Social workers are one of the professions (along with psychologists, physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and psychotherapists) allowed to practice psychotherapy. Therefore, most major insurance providers cover psychotherapy provided by Registered Social Workers.
